10 Budget Wedding Ideas

When I say “Budget Wedding” this does not mean cheap. Weddings, no matter, how big or small are never cheap, unless you are getting married at the courthouse in your jeans and tee shirt with no additional expenses. Here are several ways of how to cut costs so your new life together doesn’t start you off in debt.

1.) HAVE A WEDDING AT A PRIVATE RESIDENCE

The backyard wedding isn’t what it used to be, many couples opt to forgo the huge charge of renting a catering hall to use a much lower or no cost alternative of using or renting someone’s backyard or living room for the day.

2.) CATERING - ORDER LOCAL DELIVERY:

Catering an event at home can be done several ways from hiring a cater to ordering buffet style food. If you really have a tight budget some the best options are ordering food from a local restaurant and having ​​it delivered and set-up that day.

3.) CATERING - HOMEMADE

If you have no budget having all have all of your friends and family bring a dish. This will create for an eclectic mix of dishes and make your day unforgettable. Plus if you say the dish is part of the wedding gift attendees will have no problem making or buying a dish to have at the event.

3.) USE SEASONAL FLOWERS - Fall:

Mums as table centerpieces and floral arrangements, these can be found for as little as 4 for $10 at local stores.

4.) USE SEASONAL FLOWERS - Spring:

Daffodils and tulips are in season and really inexpensive, giving the tables a bright burst of color.

5.) USE SEASONAL FLOWERS - Winter:

Wintertime brings red, pink, and white poinsettias that are not only cost effective but can fill out space well.

6.) USE SEASONAL FLOWERS - Summer:

Summer is the best time to get traditional roses as well as chrysanthemums and carnations.

7.) FAKE FLOWERS:

Flowers from craft stores can be found on sale and can be made into beautiful bouquets and centerpieces.

8.) SOMETHING BORROWED - WEDDING DRESS:

Borrowing or purchasing a second hand wedding dress will cut down on the over all cost of the wedding significantly. Some dresses can cost thousands of dollars, borrowing a loved one’s dress or using a donated dress will allow you to use any leftover budget for other aspects of the event.

9.) BUY A NON-WEDDING DRESS, WEDDING DRESS:

A wedding dress doesn’t have to come from a bridal store, and maybe you don’t NEED a white dress. Plenty of stores offer dresses that can be used as wedding dresses and are a fraction of the price rather than purchasing from a bridal boutique

10.) IPOD DJ:

Technology has allowed anyone to be a DJ these days. All you need is an Ipod, use itunes or purchase and arrange the music in the order you want for your day. This could be a great assignment for the groom to take over.
