6 Bridal Shower Ideas for the Unique Bride

Everyone has a general idea of what happens at a bridal shower: opening presents, silly party games, and meeting up with old friends and relatives. As far as venue, bridal showers are typically held at a restaurant or a family member’s home with not much of a theme past “You’re Getting Married!”. Here are some unique ideas for your unique bride.

1.) Tea Party

This is the new theme that has been trending this year. Reserve a day at a local tea house or hold one at a unique venue. This is an inexpensive yet classy way to celebrate the Bride-to-be.

2.) Gift Card Bridal Shower

What do you get the bride who already has been living as an adult for years with their own house, kitchen appliances, and furniture? Gift cards to their favorite restaurants, stores, and local businesses. Many brides are in this situation these days and turn to registering for items they don’t need or want just because it is tradition. Instead give guests a list of 20 of the bride’s favorite places or places that she’s never been.

3.) Co-ed Shower

This type of shower is becoming more and more popular these days. With co-ed showers can come more presents, why should the girls have all the fun, have both the guys and girls attend. This is good for brides with small families or not a lot of girlfriends attending, this way it could potentially double the size of the party guests, the more the merrier.

4.) Wine Tasting Shower

Host the shower at a local winery and sample the wine selection throughout the extent of the party. The wine sommelier at the winery can educate the group about the wines being tasted.

5.) Artsy Bridal Shower

Have the shower at an art gallery or hire an art teacher and purchase supplies to have each guest paint a picture to take with them, or to give as a gift for the bride. This is an interactive and interesting spin on the activities for the shower.

6.) Cooking Bridal Shower

Have each guest bring an item off the Bride’s registry that is used in a dish they make regularly as well as a recipe card and the dish for the rest of the party to try. This will give the bride ideas of what her and her future hubby can make together and she will already know if she’ll like it or not since she’ll be able to try each dish at the shower. This will enable the host to not worry about the cost of catering or the time of preparing food herself.
